Stars cast for the live-action Kimi ni Todoke movie photo

I completely forgot they were planning a live-action Kimi ni Todoke movie until a few days ago, but now that they've announced the leads for the upcoming film, I'm sure I'll have a hard time forgetting again.

I'm sure, by now, you've realized that several of us are in love with Bloody Monday, the 24-esque J-drama that had its sequel air last season. A good portion of our love for the show had to do with our -- mostly Colette's -- obsession with its young star, Haruma Miura.

Imagine her response when I told her that he'll be playing the role of Kazehaya in the upcoming Kimi ni Todoke live-action. Needless to say, I'm almost as excited. As for the girl playing Sawako, Mikako Tabe is set to take on the role and while I can't remember her being in any shows that I've seen, she certainly looks the part.

It's a shame we'll have to wait until September before we catch a glimpse of the film, but something tells me it'll be worth wait. Is anyone else as excited about this as I am? I just wish they had opt'd for a full series instead of a movie. Oh well.

I'm glad they're making a movie out of this. Such a great story. I wonder how they'll condense it at least
I am excited. Hopefully the movie will have a definite ending.
The girl looks really good for the part. The guy, though...he looks a little too Suave McHandsomeface there for the image of Kazehaya, who was always (at least in my mind) someone who has a very boyish aspect about him.

Although I'm interested in the film, having just finished the anime series, I wish they'd decided to take the season-long series route with the live-action too. Kimi ni Todoke's charm has a lot to do with how they handle the slow moments and the small things, so with the compression into a single film, they'd have to largely sacrifice that in order to make enough happen in the plot. And on that note, the series never had a really strong core plotline; it was mostly driven by Sawako's growth as a person, so...not sure how they're gonna sell it as a film that both captures the charm of the story AND has enough there to justify a movie-esque narrative.
HAHA! Suave McHandsomeface? That just made my day.
I feel like I am a small part of the population that couldn't endure Sawako's inner monologuing, so I embrace a film version, hoping that her constant talking is put to a minimum. Sorry, argh, its just what's she's saying is soooo boring.
Mmmm...maybe a series will happen if the movie does really well? The anime is super freakin' adorable, so I'd love to see a LA version. Guy is cute I guess...he's no Hiro Mizushima though (
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEXCITED
What? Isn't she suppose to resemble Rie Inou from "Ringu?" I guess she only resembles her in her actions, I haven't read the manga in a while. I guess they needed someone cuter, not that I'm complaining. The cuter the better, that's my motto.
HHHNNNNNNRRRRRGGGG I WANT THIS MOVIE NAO!!!
Whoa! Sawako really looks the part. I can already imagine her creepifying smile. But it would be better if someone could photoshop that smile.

Onegaishimasu.
I generally don't watch live action versions of shows, but I guess I'll have to make an exception for Kimi ni Todoke.
Mikako Tabe as Sawako is an awesome choice ~
