Remember that Strike Witches movie that was announced a while back? It turns out that it's finally releasing in a little over a month. I honestly forgot that it was even in production, since my brain normally files things like "girls strapping jet packs on their legs, flashing their panties, and growing cat ears" under the "Not Necessary Information Whatsoever" folder. But no, it's coming out in Japanese theaters on March 17.

To get people hyped, Kadokawa has released a 2-minute trailer for the film. To my eyes, it looks pretty similar to the TV series, not really looking very cinematic or having improved animation. Then again, I couldn't say for sure, since I didn't really watch Strike Witches. You can judge the trailer for yourself after the jump, along with a synopsis of the film.

In 1945, Yoshika Miyafuji, who lost her witch powers during the Strike Witches' last assignment, has been studying to become a doctor. Shizuka Hattori, one of her cadets in the Imperial Fuso Navy, then arrives to deliver a message: Yoshika is to be transferred for study abroad in Europe.
