Super Dimension Fortress Macross is now available on Hulu photo

F**k, yes! Seriously, this is like having Christmas in February. After waiting for years, Macross is finally available to everyone who wants to see it free of charge, courtesy of Hulu. Sure it might be the recent ADV dub, but it is the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross--not Robotech. That means the music and story are actually left intact instead of butchered for the sake of television syndication.

It also means no more excuses. If you fail to watch it, then you're missing out on one of the best anime series of all time. So, save yourself any further embarrassment and watch this piece of anime history. If you don't, you'll fail to understand all inside jokes that were in Macross Frontier and the rest of us will laugh at you. Besides, if you enjoyed that series, then you definitely owe it to yourself to watch this.

[Update: It was brought to my attention that the series is only available for streaming in the US. Sorry about that, foreign friends--didn't mean to get your hopes up.]

And for those who haven't watched the series just a warning, Minmay is a selfish bitch.
This news, it pleases me.
Is this series with Ranka in it?
This is not satisfactory enough until DYRL gets the national theatrical release it deserves.

Is this series with Ranka in it?

No my friend, this is the Original SDF Macross from the 80's, this is the series with the original Minmei, not the duality of character we had in Macross F, so go to Hulu and watch it, This I command!!!!!!
Give us Do You Remember Love darn it!
I WAS ENJOYING UNTIL I HEARD HIKARU'S VOICE, ITS VIC. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Great series, any mech/sci-fi anime fan should see this, essential work. I've got my complete ADV set of this already, but others should take advantage.
Worth is just to hear Mari Ijima and her sexy Engrish. Too bad I hate Minmay, lol.
'After waiting for years, Macross is finally available to everyone who wants to see it'...er, except for those of us not in America :-(
"We're sorry, current our video library can only be streamed within the United States."

HARMONY GOOOOOOOOOOOLD. >:(
As someone who is at this very moment acquiring Macross Frontier, and has had Macross Zero sitting innocently on a hard drive for something like five years (I forgot I had it...), should I make an effort to see the original Macross? I mean, I've got no qualms with old stuff (original Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato are rad), but I'm just worried about not "getting" stuff in these more newfangled Macrosses if I haven't seen the original.
My eyes tell me "Yes, yes..", but my ears tell me "Heyullll, no" to the dub.
Best series ever.

Sub is still better. :P
growing up, I always sorta mumbled the title when asked what I was watching
"And for those who haven't watched the series just a warning, Minmay is a selfish bitch."

*HIGH FIVE*
HOT. I'm so watching this.
Marry me, Lyn Minmay
Macross is a really odd show for me. I grew up worshipping Robotech, specifically Macross. I adored Max and when he hooked up with Miriya, I was sold. There's something hot about aggressive, green-haired ladies. Over the years, I've had all-night viewing parties with Macross as the main feature. Years later, I bought the Animeigo sub-only release. It was nice seeing the show in Japanese but I found that I preferred some of the American voices to the original Japanese, specifically Max. He was a nerdy kid with glasses and his deep Japanese voice didn't match. I checked out the new English dub on Hulu out of curiosity and it just feels wrong.
I was in 2nd-3rd grade when Starblazers (Space Battlecruiser Yamato) was in syndication, and high school when Robotech aired...I own all thes dubbed series and various moive cuts...cant wait to watch this on Hulu

This Attack on Titan mock film poster is pretty sweet

I have very little faith in the Japanese film industry's ability to make a decent live action adaptation of Attack on Titan. Very few studios here could supply the budget required to make it work. This is especially the case ...
