Get ready, Naruto fans! Composer and lyricist Ryo, of the Japanese band Supercell, has announced that the group's third single will be featured on Naruto: Shippuden starting on July 1st. Who's excited?
For those who may not know, Supercell is composed of eleven members, with Ryo providing all of the lyrics and music, and the other ten members helping with illustration, photography, and other visual aids. The whole concept really intrigues me (cough, cough, artist speaking here), and that's part of why I'm looking forward to their new single. The band got its start on the Nico Nico Douga video sharing website, originally using the voice of vocaloid character Hatsune Miku to sing for the band, though later replacing the synthesized Miku with a human singer on occasion.
Since then, Supercell has garnered a lot of attention and even had a few tracks featured on 2009's Bakemonogatari. The group was also featured in 2009's animated film Cencoroll (which was amazing, by the way, and I really want it to become a series! Or at least have another movie! Okay, okay, I'll stop fangirling.)
So.
Supercell + Naruto = win?
Let me know your thoughts!
[Thanks, Ko!]
