[Welcome to Superhero Time, the new weekly column that covers the latest and greatest in Japanese tokusatsu and other live-action hero shows! Let Salvador be your guide to the world of grownups wearing spandex for great justice! -Josh]
Forgive me on the delay for this post, as today shall be the new day for this segment. In order to make it up to you guys, I plan to cover two episodes for both series so that we can be up to date.
To those who are new, Superhero Time is a one hour line up that airs on TV Asashi every Sunday from 7:30am to 8:30am. In this segment, I talk about my feelings regarding the latest episodes of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, which air during Superhero Time (I also do my best to avoid any spoilers.).
Now let us take a look at the ordeals that these heroes must undertake.
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger Episodes 45-46

With one more grand power left, the team must now head back to a previous location they protected as part of an important mission. The aftermath results in the return of a hero who most of you might recognize if you have seen Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3. Sadly, this episode resulted in being mostly a clip show due to the Gokaigers having to explain to the whole situation to our newcomer (Whatever happened to a quick scene transition?). Other then that, part of the episode involves some random humor regarding the team and their new comrade (Who happens to be voiced by Kazuki Yao, who is currently known for Franky's voice in One Piece.).
Now that the team have a new member on board, they must now prove to him that they are worthy of the Kakurangers' grand power. In the meantime, the Zangyack are setting up a plan that will once again test the trust between Marvelous and his crew. Unlike the last episode, they actually got to focus on some character development, which will actually play a major role in the story.
Gokaiger may have had its ups and downs during the show's broadcast, but from here on out things are going to get very serious once again. At the moment, these two episodes will serve as a set up towards the first final fight of the series (Winner takes all.).
Kamen Rider Fourze Episodes 17-18

Things are beginning to heat up again in the next installment of Kamen Rider Fourze. This time around we dive into Kamen Rider Meteor's reasoning for entering the story (Other than being the inevitable second rider.), which results in some ulterior motives. Just like the last arc, one of Gentaro's friends is in a bad predicament with the current Zodiart. Right when things are about to get resolved, a new conflict enters the scene, which will have to result in the Kamen Rider Club having to take a different approach in their plan to protect the school.
My impression of Meteor has changed during this arc because of how he was depicted as a person compare to how I thought he was going to be like when he fought as a rider. It is not too often that we encounter someone who fights in a goofy manner, yet exhibits a more serious and mysterious personality outside of battle. His contribution to the series will act as potential towards character development later on in the series.
Fourze may have started off as very silly and over the top (Which I actually love.), but every episode manages to set up towards the serious story at hand. The addition of a new faction is going to be interesting on how it will affect the actions of the Kamen Rider Club and the school's chairman, which can go any way for both groups.
If the first part of Fourze was about making friends, then the next part is going to focus on how they deal with the new obstacles that come their way. With Meteor's success in his current mission, this is going to end up being one bumpy ride for the club (Most likely the key to befriending him might involve one of the Astro Switches).
