Superhero Time: Operation Showtime

Putting an end to this 'special operatives only' nonsense, Kamen Rider Wizard will be joining us for another long year in the war against evil. Neither despair or viruses will stand in my way as we push forward in bringing you the latest recaps on those who wear leather and plastic in the heat of battle.

Now let's put on our rings and touch the latest gadgets in Go-Busters and Kamen Rider Wizard.

Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Episode 29

Busters are about to get real.

After a few side episodes, Go-Busters is finally commencing the operation that Hiromu, Ryuji, and Yoko have been training for. In order to preserve Messiah's life, Enter and Escape begin their counterattack to prevent the Go-Busters from entering the subspace.

I will admit that Hiromu messed up during the one-on-one fight he was in, since he should have resorted towards using his super speed when the opportunity to escape was present. Being the forgiving guy that I am, he was probably more focused on having the chance to see his parents again, which will act as a great surprise when the people that reside in the subspace are shown.

Will the people be trapped in pods, will they look normal, or have they all been modified into some sort of mechanical abominations. Whatever the answer may be, the wait is killing me for now. With the welcome wagon that the Go-Busters had to face during their operation, their victory is not going to be an easy one. Hopefully, we don't get an early defeat that keeps us from learning the truth, since it would make the whole build up a waste of time.

Go-Busters has accomplished part of its main goal, so it would be a huge disappointment if we don't get that proper follow up.

Kamen Rider Wizard Episode 2

Sorry, but you are not qualified for magic.

Part of Wizard's mystery is revealed as we are hinted about Soma's involvement with the Solar Eclipse Ritual, along with his meeting with the mysterious White Wizard that gave him the Wizard Driver. Meanwhile, an aspiring magician ends up becoming the next Gate that the Phantoms are after.

Based on the setup, I could see the possibility of making Shunpei aka the victim for this arc face the dark truth behind trying to master the ways of magic. In fact, the aftermath from being a Gate is hinting towards a darker story. Then there is the mystery behind the one known as Wiseman that Phoenix and Medusa are desperate to summon, which is another factor that keeps me intrigued.

For now, I think that Phoenix and Medusa are only going to play the role of the early villains, since we have yet to figure out the identity of the one that started the ritual in the first place. Wizard also deserves some extra points for having a cross-dresser appear as a recurring character, since it's a rare outcome in most kid shows nowadays.

Most importantly, the concept of Wizard's new rings being a mystery could set up for some juicy conflicts in the near future. Judging by today's backfire, there is no telling where Soma's ingenious methods will take him later on.
