Well, I think for now this will be my last post on my SZS project. I wanted to round out the project with a few more ideas, however not all of them were realized. Above, is a 2nd DVD cover design (not presented in "3D" because I'm lazy and today's my birthday, so nyah) featuring more classmates from Itoshiki-sensei's class. I almost got too boring with this one, so I added a flying, spade-weilding Chiri-chan and Emperor Penguin (latest subbed episode [7] was fantastic with the Chiri and the penguin :D ).



And last but not least, a box set design. To be honest, it ended up looking alot like the first DVD case, so I'm not sure if this is final. I wanted to come up with something a bit more unique, but for now I'll stick with this as it fits within the theme I established.

A slight disclaimer: all of the art of the actual characters is from the show. I didn't draw any of it, as is probably obvious. Some of the art are vectors done by random "Anons" from everyone's favorite 4chan. Sadly, I can't credit them really, but they did allow me to make my job easier by focusing on the overall design of the ads and boxes. So thanks to SHAFT (obviously) for the screenshots and Anon for a few vectors.

Hopefully this wasn't in vain, and it got some creative juices flowing in your brain too. :D I'd love to do this with another series eventually, but as college begins in a week or so, my workflow may disrupt any such plans. But suggestions are always welcome, just don't expect any results. :P I'll continue to blog here as well as my regular blog (which is less anime-focused, obviously) but maybe I'll critique design in the anime industry if I feel like it, or anything else art related. It's all pretty much up in the air.

Can't wait to see what else comes out of the cblogs here, there's some other good stuff here already!
