Ah, "key visual". I like that rather unique term the Japanese animation industry's cooked up. It's very straightforward one, practically screaming "Hey guys, we want you to think about this when you hear about us!!!". It's a form of marketing transparency that seems almost noble at times.
The latest act of anime industry nobility has to do with the next Fate-franchise anime, which is sadly not an adaptation of Fate/Apocrypha or Fate/Prototype. It's Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, a gag manga spinoff starring everyone's favorite lolita Holy Grail host, Illyasviel von Einzbern.
And what does the key visual scream for us to remember whenever we hear the name "Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya"? Based on what's in the gallery, it wants us to remember...Illya and some other chick as magical girls.
Alright, it's not exactly imaginative, but at least now we've an idea what the character designs will look like on screen, right?
I can't wait until some anime's key visual is a random cat picture.
