Take cover, Gungrave: Overdose shoots its way into PSN photo

As a fan of Yasuhiro Nightow's (Trigun's original creator) style, it's good to see that Gungrave: Overdose is arriving on PSN this week for North America. While it is easy to find the game for a cheap price in online retail places, PS3 owners that lack a PS2 or PS3 that can play PS2 games will now have the chance to take control of Beyond the Grave as he shoots his enemies in stylish maneuvers. Not only does he shoot down evil, he also wields a giant coffin that contains an arsenal of destructive weapons. Did I mention that he is an enhanced super zombie known as a deadman?

While Overdose's graphics are inferior to the first Gungrave game, the improvement in gameplay make up for it in the long run. If you are not satisfied with Grave's firepower, then you can also play as the dual gun katana wielding blind samurai deadman known as Juji Kabane or the lightning wielding ghost rocker known as Rocketbilly Redcadillac.

Just by those description, you know you are getting into something over the top when you face mobsters, people turned into mutated abominations by a super drug, machines of all shapes and sizes, and other deadmen as it follows the formula of a beat em' up game. While they have yet to mention Overdose's price, I am going to assume that it will be  US $9.99, which is a good deal for the carnage that you will get to unleash. And last but not least, you get a button that lets you do a flashy explosive pose.

Dragonball Z BATTLE OF Z coming to lots of consoles

Dragon Ball Z BATTLE OF Z is an awful name. Far be it from me to judge Bandai Namco's naming sense though.  What is BATTLE OF Z you ask? It's the latest Dragon Ball Z game from the folks over at Bandai Namco, and it's sl...

JoJo All Star Battle is the most fabulous game not at E3

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle is heading to the PS3, one of the "old" consoles. But I'd bet good money that even after E3 is over, after Microsoft and Sony have blown their game loads all over the internet, ...

This Tales of Xillia English promo is big and dramatic

I played Tales of Xillia back when it first hit Japan a few years ago, and at the time I wasn't sure how I felt about the experience. It's not the best overall Tales game this generation; that pleasure goes to Tales of Vespe...

Dragon's Crown opening is filled with slow zooms

Vanillaware's upcoming Dragon's Crown is so close to release that I can taste it.  It tastes like a rare and delicious cheese. The opening to Dragon's Crown has hit the net, and it's full of slow zooms and booming ...

Go West! Week Forty-Nine: All the Shmups

Come one, come all! Welcome to the latest edition of Go West!, your [occasionally] weekly column about Japanese games that probably won't ever be released out west. This week? Uh... well, some games I guess.  In any case, let's make like a tree and get this party started!

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles announced for NA and EU

Despite my love for the Tales series, I've never played the much acclaimed Tales of Symphonia. It hit the Gamecube at a time when I had lost interest in the console (for silly reasons), and just got away from me.  ...
