Namco Bandai has released a third trailer for its Vita re-imagining of Tales of Innocence. We get some snazzy new gameplay footage, shots of the new animated opening (handled by Production I.G) and lots of voice work. Scheduled to release on January 26 in Japan, fans won't have to wait too long for a Tales game on the console.
I completed Tales of Innocence back when it was a DS game and found it a little underwhelming. The lack of voice acting was certainly disappointing and the dungeon design really challenged my patience. I was also unimpressed by the relatively brief running time of the whole package. Despite being a mothership Tales game, it felt small and walled in. The second mothership title for the DS, Tales of Hearts, made it look even worse by being a comparably massive game.
It's looking like a lot of my complaints with the original title are being addressed with this revised and reworked version. Containing two extra characters, full voice work and a bevy of other changes, I couldn't be more excited to give Innocence another shot. Not to mention, with the original game having been skipped over for an official localization, I think there's a pretty good chance that Innocence R will find its way to English speakers.
Just make sure you all buy lots of copies of Abyss and Graces F first.
