The second season of Haruhi is no longer labeled as a rumor, it is really going down. To celebrate this event haruhiism.com has put up a promotional video. But not an ordinary 10 second teaser showing the main character doing such ambiguous acts like flying naked or standing on top of a very tall tower. No, this is a 22 minute long promotion that will make you question your very existence after sitting through its entirety.
Basically, the video is taken from a bunch of security camera’s as they cycle through Haruhi’s school at night time; on July 7 2007 no less. In some of the shots you see different, live-action versions of the characters supposedly depicting a famous scene that will probably appear in the next season. I’m not really sure what to make of this, but hey its Haruhi; did you really expect a normal trailer? The rest of the video is after the jump.

That was........interesting.....I'd rather see Haruhi flying naked or on top of a very tall tower though...
You gotta give them props for trying something different from a change. This stems from viral marketing and is almost like an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) because of trying to guess what the hell is going on in the video. As for me and everyone else who is sane, we'll sit this one out and just wait for the series to air and surprise us with new characters and storylines.
But this is making me a little excited about the possibility of a live-action Haruhi show (or maybe even a movie) like rumored before.
Anyone who's read the light novels will know what's going on. I can't wait for the events in the video to take place in the anime. It is one of my favorite storylines in the novels.
I don't have a farking clue what's going on. I should probably find the time to read the light novels (but now I've left school I don't have access to unlimited printouts.....like what I did with the FMP novels).
ahh viral marketing at its finest. I dont understand this at all, but Im sure the next season will be amazing as always
BTW, it's haruhiism.com (two "i"s). haruhism.com goes to some person's site (whom, ironically enough, does seem to have some interest in the anime). Just a FYI ;)
Heya, I'm that "some person" who currently owns the haruhism.com domain. I'm just redirecting it to my personal blog at the moment but I intend to do some anime (and Haruhi of course) related stuff on it soonish.
Anyway, ditto on moyism's comment - you're pointing to the wrong URL ;)
What they just did was vandalism. lol
Yay! Kyon makes an appearance!
It does make perfect sense if you've read the light novels, although they definitely could have condensed that down a bit. I imagine it's pretty weird if you don't know what's going on, but it's kinda tedious after a while, if you do.
It's worth noting that yesterday was Tanabata.
I was hoping for an aerial photo of their work on the site somewhere, but couldn't find such a thing.
I'm really not sure but I think what they did is the SOS Brigade logo.
Istvan, as others have mentioned it's a part from one of the novels. Highly suggest checking them out if you haven't already. And not to sound mean, but no they are not writing the SOS-Dan logo but good guess though ;)
My guess is they are doing what Haruhi has done before, by herself. The vandalism they talked about her admitting to in middle school so my guess is she is trying to attract more people to the club, or just make a spooky sign.
shinkuhinata: You're close! Very close!
Thinking about it, I'd be more happy if Kyoani did another FMP series, even if they did an OVA series of Dancing Very Merry Christmas it'd satisfy my inner FMP fanboy. Of course I'd love to see a full series that covers the events of Continuing on my own and Burning One Man Force, but at this rate it seems they'll be booked up with endless Haruhi series' for the next few years. I just pray their second series of 2009 (as there is bound to be a third series of Haruhi) is a new FMP one.........
/rant over
In fact I'm being stupid, they'd be silly to make a 3rd Haruhi series in 2008 (unless it's popularity stretches the world), and I reckon there's a high chance their second series of 2008 (if the first is Clannad) will be an FMP one.
Sorry for the little outburst, it's just while I love Haruhi, I love FMP that bit more ^_^;
