While my preference for 2-D over 3-D Disgusting Pig is well-known, I can't help but second my elder sister's observation: that the upcoming anime adaptation of the CW's live-action series Supernatural is simply not as sexy as the meatbag-based original.
What it is, though, is well-produced by veteran studio Madhouse, and looks to be an interesting ride. It covers most of the material from the show's first two seasons. There are no sequel or side-story shenanigans here, though a few anime-exclusive episodes and story arcs will make an appearance. I'm hoping that the anime-only bits are of the sort that have special effects too complicated or visuals incompatible with live-action work.
There seems to be a ton of work going into making east-west anime/manga collaborations these days. Do you think it'll work out in favor of the industry, which has certainly had its fair share of doom-and-gloom lately.
