The best game on the iPhone ever: Mew Mew Tower

The best game on the iPhone ever: Mew Mew Tower photo

My lord and master Brad Rice recently pointed me in the direction of a little iPhone game he had heard about recently called Mew Mew Tower (although mysteriously, it shows up in my phone menu as TumiNeko), and considering that I have actually been playing a few games on the iPhone lately, I was in just the right mood to try out something quirky.

Created by B3 United, Mew Mew Tower is an extremely simple game -- you make a tower using cats. You'll get everything from small kittens to fat tomcats, which you place by swiping your finger downwards until they hit the top of the stack. When it starts to get precariously high, you can tilt the iPhone from side to side to offset the sway, all while listening to the pained yowls of cat piled upon cat. My personal favorite moment is when you overbalance them and lose the game: after the entire tower leans off the screen, you're treated to a full length shot of every cat leaping off and running away.

Mew Mew Tower is probably the greatest thing I will ever download onto my iPhone for $1.99, not to mention the summary text when you look it up in the App store to buy it is utterly charming. Allow me to share it with you here:

"The Mew Mew Tower" is the gamethat is accumulating a lot of cats highly the sky in a line. You will stack a cat straightly so that balance may not worsen. If the iPhone is leaned, a cat will collapse easily. Oppositely, let's incline iPhone and balance when becoming ill-balanced. It is a fun game to be able to enjoy from a child to an adult."

I can't see how you could not buy it after a summary like that.
