So, with an actual reason to post a Japanator blog, I'm able to take advantage of the new features. Yay.

Anyway, here in Central Ohio there's a good size population of Japanese immigrants thanks to the Honda plant in Marysville and other businesses, and I'm sure OSU helps some as well. In order to cater to this section of the population, there's a number of import grocers and the like around the city. Well, the book store in particular, Hana Gifts, has been a local source for import manga and magazines. They also have a large supply of used manga that's often sold at dirt cheap prices. Individual volumes can sell around $2.50 or less, and there's even packs of entire series sold in bundles. In fact, the supply has perhaps gotten too big lately.

So they decided that this weekend they would hold a manga sidewalk sale, 50% off marked prices. With the prices already low, I figured that there would be some deals to be found. Most of the selection would be shojo and shonen titles that the kids would of been reading, but there would be stuff from older readers as well.



So I think I managed to do well. There was a run of all the volumes of Oh My Goddess!! for around twenty after the cut, but I already had them in English. There was a volume of You're Under Arrest! for fifty cents, a few other books I figured I could check out, and $10.50 for a run of Gunsmith Cats was a fair price in my mind.

While I didn't find anything really Earth-shattering or the like, I feel it wasn't a bad take. $14.14 For a stack of ten books isn't bad at all.
