The Bleach Reincarnation Project

Have you ever wondered what happens when anime characters die? If you ask Goku, he might just tell you about the “Other World”, Hell, Heaven, and King Kai; all that sort of stuff. But let me tell you now that it's all just a lie. When anime characters die, they are reborn into Soul Society, like the anime Bleach has been telling us all this time. You can call me a liar, but I have actually spent a year in Soul Society to study this phenomenon first hand. (By the way, there are no toilets in Soul Society, so bring your own.)

Under closer inspection, most of the shinigami within Soul Society are actually anime characters we all know and love reincarnated. After the initial surprise faded, I decided to study some of these shinigami (and hollows) to figure out what anime character a particular shinigami, or hollow had originated from. It was a hard and grueling job, but in the end I believe this great effort was spent wisely knowing the ancestry of our favorite Bleach characters. You can view my findings after the jump.

Ikkaku is a brawler who just always has to, and wants to fight; no matter what. These traits I believe are derived from his previous form, Roronoa Zoro of One Piece. They both love to fight with swords, and choose to carry them around even outside of a combat situation. However, the trait that really brings these two together is the will to fight toward an unbeatable opponent, Hawkeye for Zoro, and Kenpachi for Ikkaku.

Kenpachi was a hard one to track down. There are many characters that can fit the bill of Kenpachi, but none of them as good as Alucard. Just like his former self, Kenpachi will always give his enemies more then a couple chances to land a fatal blow just to make things even. Both love little girl sidekicks, and both possess a truly sinister smile.

Not only do both of these guys look surprisingly alike, they happen to share a lot of similar characteristics. For example, both are cool-headed and are considered to be prodigies at such a young age.

Viral must of died, somehow or someway, because he is now the Espada known as Grimmjow Jeagerjaques. His animal like ferociousness and independence ended up becoming Grimmjow’s most prominent trait. Both cat-like creatures love to fight, though tend to only fight men with long swords. (Grow up!)

Once a slacker, always a slacker; and this is the proof you need. Girl-loving Jiraiya in death had been reborn as the girl-loving Shunsui in Soul Society. Essentially, nothing has changed, they both still drink too much and fondle any girl that crosses their paths (minus Tsunade).

You see, both are obsessed with killing, being powerful, and torturing others; an easy association.

Lisa Yadomaru previous form must have been a person who loved porn. But not just any porn, one of an ‘drawn nature’ to be more specific; what we in the west call hentai. Let me remind the audience at this point, if you are reading or watching porn in an anime, it automatically becomes hentai; no matter what. After knowing this tidbit, it was easy for me to track down her previous form. Which just so happened to be Harunobu Madarame, master of hentai himself. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself.

If Tite Kubo could have it his way, Kukaku would be the main character of the show, but for some reason she isn’t; perhaps it’s an act of God. That is why Kukaku is Haruhi, because she used the power of God itself to keep herself from being the main character of another show. For you see, being the main character of a show is a strenuous act; and I believe Haruhi had enough of it. (I think it was the dance that did her in.) May I add that both of these characters really do know how to yell at the people they love; damn bitches.

After only one glance, I knew Gin was just a reincarnation of Sai. But the line did not end there; because both just so happened to be a reincarnation of Shusuke Fuji from Prince of Tennis as well. The one thing that permeates all three of these characters is their mysterious aurora; you never know what’s going on in any of these guys' heads.

I know what you are thinking, how can Byakuya be the reincarnation of a winy, emo kid? Yes it might sound strange, but hear me out. I’m not talking about young Gaara, but old more leader-like Gaara. The one who cares about his villagers, and about justice and all that jazz. Not to mention they both employ the same fighting style when entering combat, which are using swarms of tiny weapons controlled by the wave of an arm or two.

Now you know the secret of life. Which just so happens to be if you are a bishonen in this life, you will be forever known as a bishonen. There is not much more I can say about this, it’s just too perfect. Someone needs to make a show based off of this relationship now.

Yachiru could have been anyone; so many different little girls to choose from. But none of them were a hundred percent Yachiru. Surprisingly, I was looking at the wrong sex and age altogether. Yachiru’s old form shared a lot of the same characteristics as her current self. It was a man who did not look as strong as he actually was. A man who owned no sense of direction, yet still tried his hardest to guide those who he loved. A man named Monkey D Luffy. It’s the perfect match. Not to mention, I asked her if she wanted to become king of the pirates someday, and she said “maybe”.

I think it would be best if Vegeta did not know that he would end up becoming another enemy turned sidekick again; or else the whole world is going to die! The way I figured out Renji’s ancestry was just to look at another character who’s losses tripled their wins (times ten). We all loved you Vegeta, but damn you sucked.

Do I need to say more?

(because I can’t with out spoiling spoilerific delicious spoilers)

By the way, the entire cast of Dragonaut the Resistance after death has fused together to be reincarnated as Rangiku Matsumoto.
