The Cosplay of Comiket 80: Last Blast

Aug 15 // Josh Tolentino

Comiket's over! And with the tide of otaku exiting Tokyo Big Sight comes a tailing wave of sweet, sweet cosplay pictures, including yet more portayals of Madoka Magica.

Now, I know a few of you demanded that I stop gathering pictures of Madoka cosplay to populate this newest gallery. Sorry guys, but the dudes above crossplaying as Madoka, Mami, and Ms. Homerun? They're members of JAM Project, the hard-rock band that produced, among other things, the hyper-manly opening theme for Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector (check it below). That automatically qualifies them, as does the sexiness of a couple of other Madoka-themed pics. You've been overruled.

Don't worry, though. There's some sexy Luka, Haruhi, Evangelion, Duckface Denpa Onna, and even My Ordinary Life cosplay to balance things out. And the Kamen Rider cosplayers finally came out as well. Just look at that Shadow Moon outfit. Plus, it's the first time I've ever seen someone cosplay as Gundam ZZ's Glemy Toto!

What are your picks for this last day? I'd wager at least a couple of you will pick the lady who dressed up as the Shunya Yamashita rendition of Rei Ayanami. OMG TEH SAUCY REI!!!!!!
