Well, yesterday was Miku Day in Japan.
And for once it's not a day we just made up so we could post fun things. It's actually "Miku Day", March 9th, which in numbers is 3/9, which in Japanese is "Mi(tsu)-Ku". It's also known as "Miku's Giving Day", because 3/9 can also be pronounced as "SAN-KYUUUUU". Puns!!!
It's also the appropriately chosen date for Hatsune Miku's first-ever solo concert. How does a Vocaloid program get her very own solo concert? By being ridiculously popular, of course. Think of it as a Gorillaz concert, taken to the next level.
Unfortunately not every one of Miku's fans could get their asses to Zepp Tokyo for attendance, so there was a live stream on Nico Nico Douga, home of the many, many memes and the MikuMikuDance Cup (of which we have some choice entries available in the video window to the right side of the site).
But as can be seen from the pictures available below, most viewers were likely unable to see Miku perform for the uninterrupted streams of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" and "MIKUUUUUUUUUUUUUwwwwww" scrolling across the screen. Unless of course they turned the comments off.
What are you doing for Miku Day? If you're not doing anything else, why not watch the music video under the cut? It looks like a concert, at least.
[Thanks to Ko for the tip!]
