oh, its definitely a challenge. those with short attention spans will be kicking themselves after.

Are you a fan of Tarantino, Colette? If you like his stuff at all you really should give it a shot. It's not his overall best movie but it's worth seeing for a few acting performances and cinematic elements alone.

This seems like kind of a pointless offer. Anyone who has decided they want to see the movie won't walk out and people that really hate the movie will see the whole thing to say that they hate the whole thing. It'll attract a few more people that want to kill an hour but I don't think it'll do anything to sales.

@Mad March Harris -- I worshipped Reservoir Dogs. Liked Pulp Fiction. Liked Four Rooms. From there I liked his stuff a little less each film. I would still be willing to give it a shot though -- I'm really kidding around about the spelling stuff. Kind of. ;)

I hated this movie. I DID walk out. It is the first movie I remember ever paying for and then walking out in disgust. Seriously. Ugh.

I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino though. I did not like Kill Bill and I pretty much haven't seen anything else.

You could always listen to the latest HAWPcast for a pretty glowing endorsement of certain parts of the movie. The violence is pretty extreme in some parts (not that his other movies don't lack in this respect but the movie sort of takes the fact that they're killing Nazis for granted) but the Jew Hunter character is so good and well acted that it's worth seeing for him alone.

Pulp Fiction is generally regarded as his best work. Reservoir Dogs is a very close second. If the violence is why you didn't like Kill Bill or Inglourious Basterds then his movies might all put you off.

This was one of his best movie in my opinion.

@Mad: Naw, it wasn't the violence. It was the story and the point. And the pacing. A lot of it was pacing. The introduction of Inglorious Basterds itself made me want to walk out in boredom, but for some reason I sat through it for two more hours before deciding to go watch 9 instead.

I dunno about you guys, but Inglorious Basterds (Spell it incorrectly with pride folks! Take that you spelling Nazi's!) was one of Tarantino's best. Yes, the pacing could've been better, but the dialogue, my god, the dialogue! Simply genius.

"That's a bingo!"

But to be honest, I don't really see it as a movie that would do well among Japanese audiences. At all. Like if it even managed to make it into the top 20, I'd be surprised.

It's an extreme hit or miss movie for a lot of people. If you like the first hour, you will LOVE the ending. If your dislike of the movie is growing in the first hour that you watch it, however, it is not going to improve.

If you liked the sort of over-the-top violence in Kill Bill, you will not be disappointed in this movie.

The grim tone and deliberate pacing of the movie (it is sometimes slow, and sometimes very fast) is very well demonstrated in the first scene.

This film is brimming with odes to directors past and present, different genres and little silly movie tricks. Take for one the first scene in which one character asks the other if they may speak in English before doing so, all while remaining perfectly in line with the plot.. Classic.

I seen this movie once,I though it was great,in fact it was awsome,I dont really know why ToHo would do that,forgive me if I said this,but I think its because of racism,I watched it till the end,and It really entertained me,the humours,the violences,and the lesson that not much people see in this movie,see I watched movies to be entertained,if it make me laughed hard,thrilled,scared...,thats entertaining to me,Im not watching movies to critizied it,even if I'm a critique,the miss spelled,heck,thats homourous,and I agreed wit Bentobox and floppy,I love WWII peroid flims like Saving Private Ryan,Band of Brothers,The Pacific,....but this movie show me that Tarantino could create a group of 'comic' anti-hero in the the last Great World War,i felt like i watchin a WWII 'super-heroes' movie,so Collette,just give it a shot,Im sure you'll love this movie,In fact,Im doing a manganized series of drawing about this movie.
