Tokyopop shuttered in this week's Advicemaster Asia Open photo

It truly is sad that we're seeing the death of an American manga publisher, but for many of us, the writing was on the wall for a while. I'm impressed that Tokyopop stayed around as long as they did, but with Kodansha making a real move into the US scene, we've seen one publisher go down and another one pull out (Del Rey Manga).

Please, a moment of silence.

Now that we're done with that, it's time to posit the greatest mysteries of life that you have for our Advicemaster Asia correspondent. This week, he'll peer into the future of anime and manga and give you exact numbers on how many copies Ladies vs. Butlers! will sell once it's licensed here.

Ask away, and look forward to his responses on Thursday!

If a manga company closes in a forest, and nobody reads about it, did it actually close?
Master Asia,

Who will win Japanator saimoe 2011? I would like to know your prediction, no your solution to the contest!
Be honest now, who is your favorite K-On! character?
Hey Master Asia, can you rig the votes in favor of Rin Tohsaka so she makes it to the Final round at least? I'll buy you those mobile suit upgrades that you always wanted :D
Dear Master Asia,

I wish not to offend you with my lowly question but I need an answer. I'm going to a con for the first time ever, Otakon, and was wondering what to expect. My friends are pushing me to go so I finally agreed this year. I'm a huge gamer and a mild anime fan, here's my profile http://www.anime-planet.com/users/jellyman223 . I'm fine with fans and things but I hate fanatics. So what am I expecting there? Weaboo's/wapanses? What should I bring? Amount of money? What to buy and what not? Ect?
