Is this a first for a game? A Japanese developer is a playable character in a Western game? I think so. While the whole thing may seem a bit ridiculous, you have to admit it makes some sense. I mean, Who's a bigger beast than the hard drinking, hard boozing, hard seku-hara, Team Ninja boss?

Steal his Ninja Gaiden francise? I'm sure he's coming for some blood! In all seriousness, I didn't have the slightest bit of interest in Saints Row: The Third until now. Excellent marketing guys!

Import Preview: Shin Megami Tensei IV

It's been a long ten years since the excellent Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne hit the PS2. When the Persona series blew up on the PS2, the chances of a new SMT game seemed to fade into the dark...

Super Smash Brothers' new fighters inspire Japanese nerds

One of the things I love most about otaku culture is how quickly its most creative elements can jump on a fun bit of news. And there was little news that was more fun than the roster update for Nintendo's upcoming Super Smash...

Want more English interviews with Japanese devs?

Who would have thought that the Kickstarter craze would still be going strong after all this time? There have been plenty of rival services created, but they don't seem to be snuffing out the seemingly endless crowds of buddi...

FOE, FOE! Etrian Odyssey Untold to land in North America

With Etrian Odyssey IV being the first game that I played in the series, I was definitely excited when Atlus decided to remake the first game for the 3DS. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before Atlus USA revealed ...

Square Enix delivered the goods at E3

Sure, Final Fantasy XIII: Versus has become a bit of a joke around the office. In the back of my mind I kept wishing for its awesomeness to finally be released, but never really counted on it. Although it's no guarantee...

Dark Souls II can't kill me soon enough

I am excited. E3 delivered a lot of goodies, but few resonated with me quite like the new trailer for Dark Souls II. What impressed me the most was the game's new approach to battle. Although the engine doesn't seem to have ...

JoJo All Star Battle is the most fabulous game not at E3

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle is heading to the PS3, one of the "old" consoles. But I'd bet good money that even after E3 is over, after Microsoft and Sony have blown their game loads all over the internet, ...
