Took 'em long enough! Metal Gear Solid 4 getting trophies
Really, that headline is enough news in itself: Metal Gear Solid 4 is getting *squeal* TROPHIES!!! And it only took Konami four years! While I myself am not a trophy hound (though I do feel proud of my sole Platinum courtesy of Assassin's Creed II), I can appreciate why other folks find them so compelling. And MGS4 is the perfect game to indulge that compulsion. Its obscenely well-suited to the obsessive sort of player who wants to get everything "right", playing over and over to conduct the perfect run. Its pseudo-trophy "emblem" system emphasized that fact, and recognized the deeds of players who could accomplish all manner of ridiculous feats of skill and persistence. Just remember the legendary "Big Boss" emblem and its insane requirements (posted below), and you'll see why it's utterly baffling that Konami didn't think to do this sooner.
