A goo-conducted poll recently revealed the top ten fashion choices that give away a man's otaku-ness. Reading the list, though, I can't help but feel that only the top five really apply:

1. Anime T-shirts

2. Anime shopping bag

3. Fanny/belt bags

4. bandanna

5. anime badges/buttons on the bag

6. long hair

7. wearing a backpack over both shoulders

8. big, thick glasses

9. tucked shirt/t-shirt

10. chemical wash jeans

I mean, "otaku" is something of a throwaway term these days, but by definition it indicates a truly hardcore nerd, the sort that one would rather not admit to being. As such, I feel kind of sorry for the folks who subscribe to those last five signs. 

What if your backpack has heavy things inside? What if you have bad eyesight? Poor fellows, now they have nothing against the ikemen.
