Well thats a tough choice but I have to say Suzumiya Haruhi.

Suzumiya I found was just a pain in the arse. Ouran Haruhi without a doubt.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was overrated and the character itself was bland, unoriginal, and sometimes downright stupid. Stupid enough I asked myself "Why am I watching this"

and while the real charm of Ouran was not Haruhi herself I'd have to go with her.

Suzumiya is the pretty much the opposite of me. She's loud, obnoxious, and domineering.

Although I do admire Suzumiya, if I take a step back and look at all of her qualities I can't help but find myself thinking, "This girl is completely insane" and don't get me wrong, I loved the series and I'm looking forward to the second season but, I think that Fujioka is a much more admirable character. She's more sensitive and earnest than her melancholy counterpart, two qualities which score her a win in my book. After all, everyone loves the Host Club!

Suzumiya got on my nerves the moment I saw her in the second episode. Her show is overrated.

VERY tough choice. I'm voting Fujioka, for two reasons:

1. I expect Suzumiya to win, so I want Fujioka to at least have a decent score @.o;;

2. Now, I think both shows are awesome. I think Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is NOT underrated, even - but its originality comes more from its story and presentation than the uniqueness of its characters, except perhaps for Kyon.

Fujioka Haruhi, on the other hand, is an utter breath of fresh air in an arena where the vast majority of female characters are either moekko or busty badass types (Mikurus or Yokos, if you prefer). Fujioka is a solid, well-rounded, interesting, and likeable character - even more so in the manga than the anime. Bisco Hatori is amazing - Fujioka Haruhi could so easily have been a total Mary Sue, but instead she feels like she could be a real person.

Suzumiya-san, of course. She possessed such a larger range of character, and she certainly makes life far more interesting. She's the Tamaki of the SOS-dan (or he's the Suzumiya of Ouran), and that's made of win right there.

"Overrated" has got to be one of the lamest insults you can throw at a show. If you can't criticize its animation quality, music, plot, etc., you throw out an "overrated" to show that you lack any real complaints. "Overrated" is a comment about people's opinion of a show, not the show itself. If you can't find a show's flaw, you're reduced to insulting the viewers instead. Cute.

As much as I love Fujioka Haruhi (she's nice and mellow compared to all the other girls out there in anime, a good friend, and an all around admirable girl), Suzumiya Haruhi captures my heart more. Because, as crazy as Suzumiya Haruhi is, she's got her flaws and insecurities and those are far from overlooked--she's human and the way she turned out the way she is now is surprisingly human as well. But, to balance out those flaws, she's got some amazing good points to her character.

That aside, I have a friend very much like S.Haruhi. As crazy as she is and no matter how annoying she might get, I still enjoy her company.

1. Fijioka Haruhi is the best representative of what an anime heroine should be outside Bleach females. So, she wins.

2. POOP AND PERHAPS PEE on Suzumiya Haruhi and all those stupid goddamn dance videos cluttering up the Internets. I don't care if her show is the most magical thing to come down the pike since that first dickwoman scene in Bible Black, that's a mortal strike against her in Aoiland.

As much i love Ouran and their wacky host club (Fujioka included). For the battle of the Haruhi's, i shall be voting for Suzumiya....her double footer flykick on the nerdy computer club president swayed it for me! Quality!

Suzumiya wins my vote, no matter how much hate it seems to garner from the people who do not enjoy her.

Easily Suzumiya. I always liked the other hosts much more than Fujioka, but Suzumiya was my favorite SOS dan member.

She's easily the most fun (and sexy) God ever created in the world of fiction.

She forces girls to dress in bunny suits, can play the guitar and J-rock ... she likes to grab boobs and twirl them around! That's good entertainment!

Well, while I love both series and Fujioka does make a hot guy... I'll have to go with Suzumiya.

She reminds me a lot of myself. Well actually Fujioka does too... damn me and my multiple personalities.

Well, I love insane characters. They're just a lot more fun! And The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a great series. The plotline is a lot more imaginative (while I do love Ouran High School Host Club). It's something you just wouldn't expect until you watch it. The first time I watched episode one, it automatically became one of my favorite animes. It's just so much more fun and the characters are all so cute!! Mikuru beam!!

Also, I love how Haruhi makes Mikuru dress up in those silly outfits. But they're all so cute--I wish I had them! But yeah I love Haruhi Suzumiya's personality. She's fun, energetic, insane, intelligent, and very high-maintenence when it comes to the people she talks to. And I love how she has such a wild imagination--how she's into espers, time travelers, and aliens so much. Like I said--she reminds me a lot of myself. ;3

jeez, friggen hard choice. However, the nod will have to go to Fujioka Haruhi, simply because Tsundere's tend to annoy the hell out of me and, despite being awesome in most ways, Suzumiya falls into that unfortunent catagory.

I don't really like Suzumiya, but Fujioka is just a foil for all the wierd guys in the club, so, since Suzumiya has slightly more dimension, I'll go with her.

Definately Fujioka Haruhi. Character wise, she's very down-to-earth. Story wise, she's able to hold the storyline together without having it get too out of control with characters like Tamaki and the Hitachiin twins.

Suzumiya-san. Though I like Fujioka too, I think they're both interesting characters and like how they break the girl steriotype in anime. Both are smart and not worried about what others think and not too moe.

Fujioka Haruhi! definately, she's cute and sweet and yet she handles and understands the other club members well.

geezum loads of people seem to like suzumiya but i love fujioka best! i mean she so funny! she balances the host club out, says what she means, in fact as they mention a couple times shes an uncouparative heroine, thats why i love her!!!!!

Haruhi Fujioka is probably my favorite female character of all time. Sorry, Haruhi Suzumiya, I love you too, but not as much as Fujioka.
