As for Batman as "bland," it helps to have read some of the better trade paperbacks in the character's storied history to really familiarize yourself. There's some absolutely incredible stuff out there, like "Year One" and "The Dark Knight Returns." I highly recommend both these books to anybody who's only been weened on the rather mediocre "Batman Begins" remake (though I haven't seen "The Dark Knight" yet, so don't kill me... ^^).

When Lelouch uses his geass, Batman is most likely using his sonar device, or he is just actually fighting with his eyes closed. He's Batman, so he can do that.

In an ALL OUT battle between the two, I don't care how ninjalike and resourceful batman is, you can't beat an entire army with giant robots AND a person who is actually an excellent strategist. The two both being good tacticians cancels out, so from there it's a matter of hardware.

So if you are allowing batman his batmobile/etc. then Lelouch gets his Hadron Cannon w/e Knightmare, and I think the result of that battle is painfully obvious.

WITHOUT hardware however would be pretty complicated. If you had Lelouch with a gun, and batman with his suit and a few of his gadgets, then it'd probably be in batman's favor unless Lulu could Geass him, and seeing as both are pretty smart when it comes to that sort of thinking, I'd say Batman would win that situation.

THEREFORE:

If Batman gets Batmobile/research buddies, Lelouch gets his Mech/whole friggin army, Lulu wins no contest

If its a mainly hand-to-hand whatever is on their person fight, it'd either be a narrow win for Lulu or an overpowering win for Batman (really would depend).

As we saw in Euphie's final moments, one can try to resist the geass, although not to much avail, if they are strongly against what they are doing. If anyone has enough willpower to actually succeed in this, it's Batman. However haven't seen anyone else try that wasn't already on the brink of death, so we can't quite know how much one's own will can, if really at all, inhibit his geass.

Plus, depending on which depiction of Batman, he could have computer lenses in his cowl, sometimes with computer screens, and we don't know how much interference the direct eye contact can take without being effective.

Plus it's Batman, and it's Lelouch. Batman's breathing could accidently knock Lelouch unconscious, thus disabling his geass.

After watching Dark Knight I really want to say Batman, but truthfully,

I'm partial to Batman, given his greater mental stability, largely due to the fact that he has few if any reasons to have emotional distress. Lelouch, while he is a Magnificent Bastard, he tends to screw up when stressed emotionally, leading to errors, as has been seen in the show. Additionally, Batman is more or less a genius as well. The main difference is their approach. Lelouch is a manipulator, whereas Batman gets his hands dirty. Ultimately (like most character debates), conditions such as setting, known info, etc. aren't stated, so no conclusion can really be made outside of fanboy logic, so what the hell, Batman ftw.
