I'd say Love*Com is definitely the stronger series of the two-- it's just *different* from the stereotypical shoujo romcom. Unpretentious and fun.

Umisho is also fun, but it's still a fairly typical shounen romcom.

This vote is coming from a first-episode analysis, and it's for Lov*Com, sorry Umisho fans, but Kageryu here sides with the midget kid and amazon woman show.

Nodame Cantabile trumps them both. But between the two of them, gotta go with LoveCom. At least as far as romantic comedies go. I did like the fan-service in Umisho, though. ^^

Love*Com is pure win, it's really original, with interesting plot twists (ep5 is awesome) and moved me to tears or left me wanting to beat the hell out of Ootani. It's kind of unusual for an anime to actually play with my feelings like that.

Umisho is ... eeh ... harem-style fanservice ? granted, there's lots of boobs, ok ... But seriously, what else ? Some comic relief thanks to the Captain or Shizuoka, but it doesn't even come close to Love*Com's level of greatness.

I found Umisho funnier and visually stimulating compared to Love Complex. I did like the ideas in LC, but Umisho has my vote due to its outrageous comedy.

Also, I noticed Umisho is pretty much the same as Hattori Mitsuru's Inu Neko Jump (pretty much the same characters and same creator but instead of swimming, it's track)... and it seriously needs an anime adaptation as I loved the manga.

I am totally for Lovely Complex. I am WAY too into that show, I am happy when Risa is happy and I feel like crap when things go bad for her. I love the show so much I don't tell my friend for fear of sounding like a chick.
