Wow, we had a fantastic game of pure gambling apocalypse last week; unfortunately, most of you felt the need to pass it up. Those of you who did vote made it into an extremely close battle, which would happen if this thing actually went down. Who would win in some unknown gambling game, Kaiji from Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji or Tokuchi from One Outs? Kaiji will always be a loser, and that is why he lost this battle. However, he gave it his all, and almost won; shedding many tears in the process. Tokuchi wins this game, though admits that Kaiji was a splendid rival; and they get married and have five children.

The dream seiyuu voice off of the century is taking place right now at Japanator. Who is the better voice actor, Mamoru Miyano or Takehito Koyasu? Basically, it is a match up between the new and the old, the rookie vs. the sensei, “just as planned” vs. “bakame”.

Now you are probably wondering who these two are, because I know there are some people out there (like me) who are very bad with memorizing Japanese names. Mamoru Miyano began his voice acting carrier in 2003, and won the Seiyu Awards’ “Best Lead Actor Award” for his role as Setsuna F Seiei back in 2008, among many other awards. Other than Gundam 00, he is also well known for his roles as Death Note’s Light Yagami, Ouran High School Host Club’s Tamaki Suoh, and Soul Eater’s Death The Kid.

Takehito Koyasu began his carrier in 1988, and is considered one of the most prolific seiyuu in Japan. He usually plays villain types, and sexy bishonen. He is best known for his roles as Fist of the North Star’s Kenshiro, Gundam Wing’s Zechs, Utena’s Touga, Maho Sensei Negima!’s Nagi Springfield, and Soul Eater’s Excalibur, plus many, many more. Both of these seiyuu play relatively the same types of characters; so then who takes the cake?

Eh I almost didn't want to choose one or the other. I don't really keep track of seiyuu's, but I've seen quite a few of the anime you listed, so I guess I'll go with Mamoru Miyano. I think Tamaki took the cake for me.

though i didnt know his name nor do i know any seyuu name >_< but if it did light, an "the kid", an Setsuna which were all great(especially light) i know im being a bit on sided but i have no clue Takehito Koyasu work so meh

It was difficult to decide, but I'm gonna have to go with Mamoru Miyano since some of the characters he's voiced are some of my favorite ones (Kiba from Wolf's Rain, Tamaki, Light, Setsuna, and Death the Kid). I mostly remember Takehito for his works as Zechs, Dias, and Seishirō. Oh wait....he was Kenshiro and Ryosuke (Initial D), two of my favorites too. Maybe I should.....forget it, I made up my mind. I'll submit this now before I change my mind.

I'm gonna bet that Mamoru Miyano wins this debate purely because of the fact you're comparing new to old, and old never beats new in popularity poles especially when your age group is almost entirely younger than 20 years old.

I'm voting Takehito Koyasu. Seriously, he was Kenshiro. Need I say more? Alright fine I'll say more. He was one badass Zechs Merquise/Milliardo Peacecraft. That's 18 reasons to vote for him right there.

Anyway, I'm going with Koyasu. At least someone here needs to counter all the fangirls who will flood Japanator any minute now after all. Truth be told, this is a close one, but youngsters should respect their elders. And Koyasu's legend dates back to the 12th century!

I'm picking Koyasu because I've been a fan of his for years. I mean, it's easy to hear his voice and be like "YEAH THAT'S HIM!"

Even though I like Takehito Koyasu (as in Ilpalazzo, Excell Saga) I have a seriously weak spot for the smex of Mamo-chan. ^^'

Nah, I'll give a reason. Miyano did extremely well right out of the anime gate with Wolf's Rain, so I'll give my vote for that.

Mamoru Miyano is my pick for seiyuu voice off champion, for Death the Kid and Tamaki Suoh. Soul Eater's Excalibur would drive me to insanity if it was my weapon, no offense to Takehito Koyasu!

Also, Kenshiro was extremely gar, therefore he wins.
Unless Miyano starts doing gar, he is not of par.

Full point to Mamuro Miyano because Death the kid is my favourite charactor in Soul Eater and I only find Excalibur irritating. But to Takehito's credit I also enjoyed the charector of Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star so he gets half a point for that one.

Baro.. Of course, the OBVIOUS winner will be TAKEHITO KOYASU..

he's like the Johnny Depp in hollywood and can play every role. He's versatile, in both serious and funny roles. He's the best of Japan's seiyus. Geez, Mamoru Miyano is good but he's nowhere near Koyasu. Besides Koyasu, there's Tomokazu Seki which is the 2nd best seiyu on Japan. Miyano have a long way to go.
