Tuesday Otaku Debate: Masamune Date vs Yukimura Sanada

Tuesday Otaku Debate: Masamune Date vs Yukimura Sanada photo

Okay, so it's Wednesday. I know I said I'd try to get this up on Tuesday, but I'll be perfectly honest, between BlazBlue, Dynasty Warriors and prepping for Anime Expo, I was a bit distracted. Moving on to the matters at hand, the results from last week are in, and while I'd love to say they were incredibly close, I really can't. To put it bluntly, Tifa decimated Aerith. I'm not really surprised--judging by previous polls--but I was hoping that she'd at least stand a chance. Perhaps it had something to do with the pictures? Somehow I doubt it.

Aerith - 8 votes

Tifa - 41 votes

Hit the jump for the next exciting debate!

Masamune Date is a Damiyo back in the 1600's, you might recognize him from countless Taigai dramas, historical novels, games and anime like Sengoku Basara, or Koei's Samurai Warriors series. He's often depicted carrying a myriad of weaponry, but always is seen wearing his trademark eye-patch and moon-crested helmet. A testament to his amazing abilities, he led his first campaign at the age of 14 and eventually founded the modern-day city of Sendai.

Yukimura Sanada, a crimson clad warrior who made a name for himself fighting against incredible odds. Sanada went on to be hearlded as one of the greatest warriors the nation has ever seen, and while he may not have the whole pirate asthetic that Date managed to pull off--fashionably so, might I add--his legend speaks for itself. It's said that after he lost the strength to keep fighting his final battle, he became cornered and allowed himself to be killed, reportedly uttering the words "Go on, take my head as your trophy." Clearly, the man feared nothing.
