Ragna. Gauntlet Hades! Dead Spike!

It's really hilarious when he and Noel are fighting each other; it becomes a battle of smartness in a way.

After hearing Sol shout "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" in Guilty Gear 2 time after time again, I'll go with Ragna for being nowhere near as annoying.

Sol Badguy. GURANDO VAIPAAAA!

I mean, the guy is called Badguy. It's something you'd be likely to forget about once you're familiar with the character, but it's still true!

I like Ragna a little better, but if it came down to betting on who'd win in a fight, then my money goes to Sol.

Considering Ragna isn't overpowered at all (like very few people think he is for some reason), I like him better.

I prefer Ragna's character design, but in a fight? I think Sol looks stronger.

On one hand I used to own the field w/sol but I always felt his move set was a little on the cheap side.

But ragna has that cool hand thingy and steals your life.

@Brad: We don't talk about the Guilty Gear 2 dub (most GG fans don't even talk about GG2, but...). lol.

So we've got the man who single-handedly won the Gear War and defeated Justice on his own, against a guy who's single-handedly destroying an organization comparable to a corrupt version of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights...

In terms of sheer power, Sol wins hands down. In the games, whenever crap was getting rough, Sol was always the one (at least in canon) to show up and beat things back straight.

In terms of who I like more though, I personally like Ragna more just because his attitude isn't painfully generic. Then again, the whole DESU eyes thing still annoys me.

Also, where is everyone getting that Ragna is a vampire from? To my understanding, it's his armagus that saps power from his opponents, not an inner bloodthirst.

tl;dr: Sol would kick his ass in a fight and is generically more badass, I just barely prefer Ragna's style....though....after Sol being my main for almost 4 years... I think I'm gonna vote Sol.

Ragna is a douche. So is Sol. But Sol is less of a douche.But not by much.

Ragna the Bloodedge, because his name is so fucking metal. Also, he's my main in BB. But mostly because it seems like nobody in Story mode addresses him as just "Ragna" (except Nu, and Tao's "Rawgnya"), they always include "The Bloodedge".

Boo Hoo. Here in ye olde England I am DESPERATE for Blazblue, coz I love me some Guilty Gear like sun in summertime (I've played my X-box copy so much it no longer plays, worn away!). I'm not the biggest Sol fan, and I'm liking the sound of Ragna, but I feel a hypocrite to vote for a character I've yet to have experience yet with (I said that like I'm going to date him...)

Well having played ungodly amounts of Blazblue recently Ragna has grown on me. So I'm gonna have to say Ragna.

They are really fucking similar in terms of moves and shit.
I'll go with Ragna, though Sol does have an awesome name. The only thing that would make it better if he became Sol Badass.

But since I can't choose BANG SHISHIGAMI, I'll go with Ragna. Sol is undeniably a badass, but due to BlazBlue actually having something that resembles a fleshed out story, I like Ragna more.

Also considering Ragna is implied to be the reincarnation of the Black Beast, that means he's a being powerful enough to wipe out half the planet's population. Even in death, it completely altered the geological makeup of the planet. That's pretty powerful.

Also, "Rebellion" is a way cooler theme song than "Keep Yourself Alive" in terms of badass themes. I often play against Ragna just so I can hear his theme.

@Tim: Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me. I guess I missed that somewhere in the story mode...

It's unfortunate that not many people here know of Sol's backstory, otherwise I think this would be a more even fight. That said, I think Ragna has a bit more deserving advantage in the fact that BlazBlue actually had a pretty fleshed out story in one game instead of requiring you to spread out across at least 5 of Guilty Gear's to get the same amount.

In terms of importance to the storyline, Sol was basically Guilty Gear's version of the six heroes rolled into one...

Tough call, both are pretty badass. I'll go with Ragna since I like his character design better, and he has more personality.

Forget both of them. I'm voting for Bang Shishigami and there's nothing you can do about it.

I vote Sol, since I do know his backstory, and I like his brand of subtlety. If an ass needs to be beat, Sol will be there (eventually...).

I really dislike Blazblue, and I find Ragna incredibly uninspired. I mean, look at him: he's really no more than a Dante rip-off with Sol's attitude (and even his moves). It's like as if Sammy is stuck in a 'bad-boy protagonist' phase, which is not surprising, since Ragna's main opponent is really Ky Kizke with iaido.

Heck, you can give Ragna Sugita's voice, but that still doesn't buy it for me.

And the name too. 'Ragna the Bloodedge'. What the heck ? That's not badass, the 'bloodedge is 'cliched' and Ragna sounds like Ragnarok, another cliched name for a badass guy.

Heck, even Sol is original in that department: his name, for one, is a rearrangement of Bal-Sagoth, which is a black metal band AND a name taken from Cthulhu mythos (which is recurrent in GG). But Blazblue is a lot more uninspired, with two endbosses that look like Guyver and an Eva ripoff respectively, just like in the original GG (hell, they took the trouble to do an original endboss in GGX, that being Dizzy, but they couldn't do the same for this game ?)

So I go for Sol on this one, but, you know what.....

Y'know, I won't be surprised if Ragna wins this round, and he won't deserve it. Pretty much a lot of the attention of him, and he himself, owes to Sol: withou the original GG series (and Sol to an extent), Ragna would not have had the attention he has now.

Still, I'd rather wait for the poll results to come out. Though I'm still rooting for Sol, the far more original (and better) design from a far better game.

I so vote Ragna. Sol has been my fav guy for a good run now, but even though I adore the fire powers and badassness, I will take Mr. Grim Reaper. The cyborg-ish/vampire/life-absorbing dark master is more my kinda character and he's similar to my personality, which I pretty sure isn't a good thing but whatever. Besides Ragna could always just go find Nu, merge with her(no comment), and become the planet destroying Black Beast. Nuff.
