Thank god that con season is over. I'd like to think I'm through with them for the rest of the year, though you never know. Something could come up that'd make me book tickets for another con in an instant, but somehow I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. Still, it's good to just take some time to myself considering how crazy things have been. It's Tuesday though, and that means it's time for the next Otaku Debate-- and for me, that means back to work.
First, we have last week's results. It was a battle to who everyone loved more, Parappa the Rapper, or K.K. Slider. Each with their own brand of music, and fashion sense, only one of them could earn the title of top dog, and we let you decide. After totaling the votes, it looks as though K.K. Slider won thanks to those votes towards the end. Tough break for Parappa, so maybe Lammy would have done better.
K.K. Slider - 17 votes
Parappa - 12

Anyone who has played Guilty Gear knows the name Sol Badguy. Originally designed and voiced by Daisuke Ishiwatari, and modeled to reflect his alter ego, Sol is an amalgamation of Queen references, an attitude in need of adjustment, and powerful fire-based attacks. While I'm not too fond of his fashion sense, I can't help but admit he's got an aura of bad-assery and levels of gar on par with the likes of the mighty Kamina himself.
His opponent in this debate? Sol's very own spiritual successor, and Blazblue protagonist, Ranga the Bloodedge. Sure, he's a lot like Sol, but in some ways he's not. Rather than dress like a Terry Bogard wannabe, he's fond of large coats, and a much sharper blade than you'd ever find Sol wielding. Not to mention his arm is totally robotic like Darth Vader, and apparently he ends up becoming a vampire, so he comes equipped with fangs. I'd love to see these two cross paths, but if they did, who'd win? You tell me.
It's really hilarious when he and Noel are fighting each other; it becomes a battle of smartness in a way.
