Well, this week I say Golgo.

This basically boils down to the old competition of "Unstoppable Force meets Immovable Object", in that Vash is the master of dodging and really good at shooting, and Golgo is so good at shooting he doesn't HAVE to dodge.

And in terms of simple popularity poll it's pretty much a tie too since you've got classic cool versus new-(the anime at least)-age badass.

I like both a ton, and personally I think I'd be happy with this competition going either way, but I think I'll vote for Golgo on this one, just cause the summary of almost every episode of the show is funny:

Person1:"Oh wow nobody can make that shot"
Person2:"Watch Golgo make that impossibly GAR shot"
Person1:"There's no way Golgo can make that impossibly GAR shot"

That and it's plausibly unrealistic. It explains the science behind what/how he does his shots. Highly unlikely as they are, at least they're physically possible.

Having a low opinion of GG after only 4 epis isn't surprising. It starts off very slow, but builds into a Godfather-esque mob film by around epis 7-8, and from there into the revenge film you see set up at the beginning. That's where it starts getting really good, the characters are built incredibly well off of one another. I think a lot of us liked the ending for being uncompromising, not taking the easy road out, and just being heartbreaking in general. I don't think it was the anime to end all animes, but the bulk is crafted quite well with a killer conclusion that was directed especially well.

As for Vash vs Golgo...I must be honest, I've never seen Golgo 13 (or whatever the anime is named) but from everything I've read...and considering the fact that Golgo is human while Vash is not, I've gotta vote Vash.

I'd go with Golgo 13 only for the fact that he has absolutely no problem with finishing the job. Even if he was unsuccessful at the first attempt he'd keep coming.

@Yuusuke Arigato for defending GG. The reason I personally liked it so much was because of the character interaction. I loved the "Bunji Bitches" and of course Bear Walken's Overkills. I just wished they would animate the Overdose storyline as well (not like that one-shot OVA either)

as much as I love Vash ( he will win because his fanbase), Golgo is too damed good of a killer to lose.
