The way animation has improved, Trigun could be a truly GORGEOUS series.

Trigun, its actually short, thus a remake wouldn't take another 30 years

Moving on, Trigun. Definitely Trigun. Kenshin already got its OVAs. Plus Trigun is just more fun.

Trigun! the only thing they need to do for kenshin is fixup that last bit...so that's ova material, but trigun would be a good revamp...

They should totally do Trigun MAXXIMUM! It's so much more brutal in the manga than the original show.

Ugh, this was a hard decision, but I ultimately vote Ruroni Kenshin on the basis that Samurais are better than Gunslingers in my opinion...

Plus they could actually finish the story in anime form using the original manga storyline...

Trigun, for all the obvious reasons (It deviated more form the original source, it's far more badass, and the whole last two volumes are made of pure, unadultered "WTF is going on OMG AWESOME BOOOOOOOOM!"

Also, Vash gets more GAR over time. I want to see GAR Vash animated.

talk about a tough decision. on one hand we have trigun an average length anime full of style, gunplay, and fun. on the other we got one of the most incredible and moving shows to ever the airwaves.

i would enjoy both to be honest here, but kenshin's swordplay and vash's gunplay would be magnificent in their unorthodoxy high deff glory.

vash i think might fare better given that they could take a cue from hellsing ultimate and trigun hasnt had any ova's yet (not counting that supposed movie coming this year sometime)

Trigun doesn't really need a remake. Kenshin was missed by a lot of people and it could do for a remake. Modern art, updated voice acting, maybe a slightly longer story arc.

Kenshin if only because they (almost) completely left out the Enishi arc. Good bye shitty filler that doomed the original series; hello successful conclusion to series. If it were anywhere close to as good as the first set of OVAs, it'd well be worth it.

Though I'd loved to get an updated Trigun too.... or even better a complete Berserk.

Since when is anime the new video games? I know remakes happen sometimes in anime, but asking for even more remakes feels like a bad idea of Square-Enix-ian proportions. But if I had to pick...

Trigun. I love the series, but popping some new animation into that baby and going into Trigun Maximum's content would be pretty awesome. Kenshin, while it has a bit of filler during the Tokyo Arc, is still really well done, and the Kyoto Arc is still one of my favorite stories in long-format anime to this day.

Besides, Kenshin didn't really deviate from the manga - it just went into filler and stopped being made before it could get back and start the Jinchu Arc. Really, the only thing they'd need to still animate would be the Jinchu Arc, so I don't see the point of reanimating everything else when it's done so well to begin with.

But over both of those, I'd still pick an actual Dragonball remake, animated from the ground up from Goku's introduction all the way to the end of the Buu Saga. Dragonball Kai is a nice step, but all that fancy new intro has made me do is salivate over the prospect of a reanimated story.

While I prefer Kenshin to Trigun, Im voting for Trigun. The reason is that Trigun deviated from the manga enough that it would be intersesting to see the manga story put to animation. Kenshin pretty much followed the story until the fight with Shishio and then after that wound up in filler hell. Some are saying they need to "properly" end Kenshin. For this Argument I have three words:
Trust & Betrayal
This OVA covered what is the best parts of the Jinchu Arc. They are also a masterpiece that is arguably one of the greatest anime produced to date. To redo this is like repainting the Mona Lisa or the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, a travesty.

In short Trigun/Trigun Maxximum FTW!

I would also love to see a complete Berserk in all it's twisted glory.

But as far as these two choices: kenshin 4 sure. Update the animation, kill the filler. Undeniably epic!!

Rurouni Kenshin. I need to see the final arc animated, and not that sorry excuse that were the ovas.

@Necros: I'm all for remakes, especially after watching FMA:Brotherhood. As long as they don't go Shonen Jump 500 episodes crazy or just make up stories out of nowhere and they have a bigger animation budget I'm good.

Kenshin would be good because most people have not seen it and a remake would allow more people to see it. However Trigun would be absolutely gorgeous with todays animation so I'm going with Trigun.

I don't know who thinks Trigun doesn't already look great. Kenshin looked like a POS compared to that, so I'd go for that based on it needing the bigger visual update.

Definitely Trigun. Trigun deviated more than Kenshin did (in reality, it was a deviation at all, more like they simply cut the series short). Also, a reanimated Trigun with today's technology would be gorgeous. Trigun is already no slouch in that department and still looks decent by today's standards, making it even better AND using the manga's storyline would be pure win.

Don't know if either would really be necessary but I'd enjoy a good excuse for more Trigun.

Definitely Trigun. I say an OVA series along the lines of Ultimate Hellsing would be the best - and awesome for Trigun fans like me! Wolfwood vs Livio - that's really all the justification you need, Wolfwood is just so badass, he didn't get a very good ending in the anime when compared with the manga.
Plus, hardcore Vash would be so shiny if animated well!

(Though I'd be happy with a Kenshin update too!)

Kenshin's animation needs a facelift more than Trigun.

However, Trigun is better suited for a remake, if not a sequel, since the animation studio now has the option to continue the story on to Trigun Maximum, which could be more epic than the original show.

just like what Gee-Man and Lincoln have mentioned, Kenshin did not so much deviat from the manga, as it took a trip to filler town, Trigun on the other hand, much like Berserk and Gantz, ended on a spot where the anime could easily pick up and continue.

My vote goes to Love & Peace.

I haven't completely watched either, but from what I've seen I'd say Trigun. It definitely could benefit from a remake with the new animation quality. Rurouni Kenshin is quite good as it is, because sword fight animation was cleaner back in the day than gun fighting.

I'm voting Rurouni Kenshin. The animation in RK definitely seems more dated than in Trigun, and sword fights tend to look prettier when animated well in anime than gun fights. Trigun was an exception to that rule since they bothered to render really cool bullet damage, but if they were to remake it I'm sure they'd probably botch that so I'd leave it the way it is. Plus the Kyoto Arc is friggin sweet.

Kenshin by far. The story arc that wasn't used in the anime (not the OAV, because it was a little used in the first OAV), is great and I always thought it deserved to be animated. I'm also a fan of Trigun, but I actually like the ending of the anime so that should be left as it is.

If I had to pick, Kenshin. Just because I liked Trigun more. I dont think either need a remake too bad. I'd rather see a G Gundam remake with beautiful animation and production values of Gundam 00, but keep the original english and japanese voice actors and overall plot. Maybe even make it 50 episodes instead of 49.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing the original Trigun storyline animated, I'm going to have to go with Rurouni Kenshin on this one. Not only do I like Kenshin more, but I think the series needs a revival - the series' animation wasn't that great. Besides, Trigun ended on a good note with me.

The samurai and sword combo are slightly more badass in my opinion, compared to the gunman and pistol combo. My vote goes to Rurouni Kenshin for an anime remake.
