Last week was a showdown from the old school. That's right, it was a dance-off. Hare Hare Yukai, from The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, pitted off against Motteke! Sailor Fuku from Lucky Star. The results?

Hare Hare Yukai: 33
Motteke! Sailor Fuku: 12

Hopefully this week's debate won't leave you in despair. There are plenty of characters in Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei. Each of them have their own quirks and flaws, but one of them is clearly your favorite. Whether it be the eternally depressed Itoshiki-sensei, or the perfect Chiri-chan, or even the ultra-loveable Maria, which character pulls at you the most and has you cheering whenever they're on-screen?

If it has to be one of the girls, the blonde one with the dual-personalities is always funny.

The illegal immigrant one. Damn why can't I remember her name. She's just too cute and needs protection.
 


Goddamit, that's a TOUGH question. I mean, all the girls are pretty freaking weird and likable (Except for Nami; she's too normal).
If I'm pressed to choice, I'd say I'm torn between Komori, Tsunetsuki and Kobushi.
Okay, you know what, once I think about it, those are the girls I like.
My favorite character is definitely Itoshiki-sensei.
I think it's the first time I've seen a show with a cast of mostly-females and my favorite character turns out to be the only male. Makes you feel a bit of... Despair. D=

@serial: I always end up "joining the harem", by which I mean that, even though he's usually a jerk of some type, I always end up liking the guy instead of any of the girls.

If I had to pick a female, it'd be the hikikomori or the returnee.

But seriously. Itoshiki-sensei!
 


yeah...umm OMG how could you? lol. xD i think i'd have to say the main girl cuz she's just too super chipper. even tho i love Itoshiki-sensei and the one that pulls the animals' tails
 


I have to go with Mr. Despair himself. At times, to me, he seems more like a crybaby than someone who's depressed, which makes him even funnier. Plus, he took the words "I'm in despair" and made them into a catchphrase. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Naruto!

My favorite is the student counselor. Her icy gaze can be rather unsettling.

I haven't watched the show since a.f.k vanished from existence. I'm afraid it won't be as good if I dip into the efforts of other subbers.

Definitely think my favorite is the hikkikomori girl (forgot her name). The way that she just pops up in the weirdest places and smiles cracks me up every time.
 


Itoshiki-sensei, definately. Why? His logic fits right with mine, what else can I say?
