The latest bit of news to float around the blogocube is a bit from the DVD commentary of Twlight, which hints at an anime version, or so says many of the reports I've read. Well, either way, here's the exchange:

"I look Asian in this scene," Pattinson says. "I do, I look like an anime character."

Hardwicke responds, "Hey, I think there's going to be an anime version of this in Japan. So you will be an anime character."

I haven't listened to the commentary, but I could easily see this as a sarcastic little back and forth between the two. But, simply discounting it as that doesn't make an interesting news post, so let's talk about it becoming an anime. This is 100% confirmed, by the way.

The anime will be directed by Mamoru Oshii, of course, with work done by Production IG. Getting to see Oshii's touch on the typical shoujo vampire romance story will be interesting, for sure. The anime will be based on the book, in the same way that Le Chevalier D'Eon was based on history. 

I can't wait to see this clash of teen angst, facism, and vampires. This is going to be the greatest anime ever.
