Two Ghibli films to air on Film4 over Christmas

Two Ghibli films to air on Film4 over Christmas photo

Did you tune into Film4 last Christmas? They held their Ghibli season over the holiday period, showing almost all of the available Ghibli films, one per day. I'd seen plenty of the big titles, like Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies, but it was a great chance to see loads more. Well, they aren't doing anything as grand this year, but there will be showing two films this Christmas.

First up is Ponyo on the 26th, which will be airing at 1:10pm GMT. They may have shown this twice already, but I'm sure there is someone out there who hasn't! It's pretty neat, so be sure to stick it on in the background if nothing else. The dub is pretty good!

The second film is Arrietty, which surprises me slightly seeing as it's only been available to buy for about a year. Still, it's definitely great to see the newest of the available titles getting some love on TV, and I'm sure many fans of The Borrowers will want to tune in to see the differences. This airs on the 30th at 4:55pm GMT.

I haven't seen either of these since last Christmas, so I figure I'll tune in for a rewatch. Will anyone else be checking them out? I believe Film4 is a UK-only channel, but do let me know if you can catch it in other countries!
