Ultra fans rejoice? Ultra Seven to get a DVD releaseShout! Factory is doing a fine job in getting people's attention lately with their Power Rangers DVD release, which leads up to a new surprise that not many people would've expected out of them. If you happen to be an Ultra series fan, then you will be happy to hear that they have decided to release Ultra Seven in one DVD set for North America. As for their reasoning for making this release possible, part of it might have to do with the fact that Ultra Seven actually aired on TNT at one point in time. However, the DVD set will only contain the original Japanese audio, which will be subtitled in English. The best part out of the deal is that it is going to be uncut, along with including a 24 page booklet on the making of Ultra Seven by August Ragone. There is also another special surprise, except that they are keeping it hidden until the time is right. Perhaps the biggest downside of Shout! Factory's release is that they won't include the twelfth episode of the series, since it was banned for featuring radiation sickness. While this may be a huge blow to fans everywhere, at least it will give people the opportunity to own another Ultra series on DVD besides the ones that have made it over here in the past. Ultra Seven will be ready to fight giant monsters on December 11th for US $49.97, and you can pre-order your copy of the series for US $34.98 at Amazon. So to all of you toku fans out there, are any of you going to pick up Ultra Seven, or does the absence of episode 12 make you not want to spend your hard-earned cash.
