Does the uneducated and troubled youth of Japan have a future in a society that seems to get smarter by the day? Yes, well that’s only if underground farms become big all around Tokyo. There is one such farm in operation under Tokyo at this moment, staffed by freeters who are in need of a source of lasting employment. This underground farm is comprised of six rooms, used for seeding, germination, and the growing of various vegetables.
As you know, Tokyo does not have a lot of empty space on its hands; and the space that is empty is not something you would want to grow food in. There are a lot of buildings in Japan, and in those buildings there are a lot of basements, which could conceivably hold underground farms. Also, Japan has an abundance of youth who, for the most part, need jobs. This is the perfect marriage, giving people jobs while transforming otherwise useless land into money, food, and nature. Now there is only one of these in Tokyo so far, and I’m not sure if they will expand on this idea; but Japan if you are reading this I think it’s a great idea, so listen to good old God Len.
