I happen to adore these guys. I'm not sure why I love them so much, but it probably has something to do with the fact that everything they release sounds immaculately produced. It's very hard to come by Japanese modern rock acts that sound this good,
Of course, I can't say they're the only act who fit that criteria, but it almost seems that way these days. Then again, that can probably be blamed on the countless number of "indies" bands that plague the internet. Honestly, a little production know-how hasn't hurt anyone--infact, if anything, it prevents it.
The video above is from their latest single, "Kanashimi wa Kitto." It features some gorgeous strings and an arguably typical, but still quite beautiful, J-pop melody. Despite the melody, it's easily one of my favorite releases to date this year.
Check out a live performance after the jump.
1. All their songs sound the same.
2. In the top video, the singer looks like someone's obaa-chan.
Like I said, I like these guys, but not because they're any good. They're really an over-produced pop band, but every now and then you kinda want some cute, sugary junk-music, right? They're the gummy bears of my iPod (alongside Ellegarden — ha!).
