Vamps just finished off their first world tour with a final performance at Hawaii's Pearl Harbor. For a stage, they used the USS Missouri, a battleship turned museum. The ship itself played host to the final surrender of the Japanese forces during World War 2, where the official documents were signed. This marks the first concert to be held on the ship. Hyde, the bands vocalist, remarked "I think it's great that an instrument of war can be used to send out a message of peace like this."
Hawaii has always served as a popular vacation spot for Japanese tourists who wish to visit the states without making the long trip to the mainland. Having visited the ship at Pearl Harbor myself, I have a hard time picturing how that worked out, but I'm sure it sounded great. I suppose that if you're a band from overseas, there really isn't a better place to end a tour. What blew me away though was the price of the tickets. According to reports, it was as much as $150 each. I was going to make a comment about how jealous I was that I couldn't attend, but after seeing that, I'm not so sure $150 would be worth it for me. How about you guys?
