Caught off of Anime Vice, our friends at Vertical aren't going to let Viz be the only one to post critical essays from the masters of the anime and manga industries. To counter Viz's Starting Point, a collection of Hayao Miyazaki's essays, Vertical is set to publish a collection of Osamu Tezuka's essays.
The man has written well over 500 works, on a wide-ranging number of topics. Vertical is likely to focus in on his essays on manga, but knowing Ed and the team over at the big V, they'll probably pick some wider-ranging ones, because that's how they roll. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I guess I should actually set some time aside to read all these pieces, shouldn't I? I'm already behind on reading Starting Point, along with Fred Schodt's essays. There are plenty of other books out there that I have yet to tackle -- and really should.
