You heard it, folks. The people of Kobe are now safe, for the life-size statue of Tetsujin-28-go (aka Gigantor) is complete and in position outside Shin-Nagata train station. The citizens will be protected from threats both large and small, with the full-size robot taking on the kaiju, and its five street-post brethren kicking the crap out of vagrants and annoying youths.
As you can see in the video above, the scaffolding is already being removed, and just a few finishing touches and cleanup work is needed around the base. An opening ceremony will be held on October 4th.
Man, I can't wait until satellite shots of this thing come up on Google Maps.
