Eiyuu Densetsu: Zero no Kiseki, the fourth game in Falcom's popular RPG series (Trails in the Sky) is getting a Playstation Vita upgrade. We've known that for a while now so that shouldn't come as a surprise. However what we didn't know was what exactly would be going into this port. The Kiseki games have never been lacking content, so I had a hard time imagining what kind of additions this version would be seeing.
Well now we have a pretty damn good idea. On track for a summer release in Japan at the price of 6090 yen, Eiyuu Densetsu: Zero no Kiseki Evolution will be getting a host of visual upgrades, putting it in the HD gaming realm. The main story will also be full voice, which in and of itself would have been enough for me. New side quests are also being introduced along with new mini-games. The cherry on top of this delicious cake? The entire soundtrack will be brand new Falcom produced arranges. We can expect to see some use of the Vita's unique abilities as well.
Why does this matter to non-Japanese speaking folk? Simple. If, for whatever reason, XSEED is unable to bring over Trails in the Sky SC and 3rd, Zero is the next best starting point. Zero no Kiseki and its follow-up Ao no Kiseki focus on a brand new set of characters, making it a little bit easier for new players to come in. It's still not perfect, but it's certainly better than getting nothing at all.
In the meantime, make sure you let XSEED know that you want to see Trails in the Sky SC!
