Ever been hanging out at home making blog posts, then later finding out that something pretty interesting or serious went down nearby?
That's apparently what happened on Monday, when VIZ Media's home office in San Francisco was flooded due to a sudden storm, forcing it to shut down for two days while the damage was brought under control. The staff assured their readers via twitter that they "saved the manga first," and that they would return to normal operations once everything was cleaned up.
Given the video you can see after the jump, the flooding looked pretty bad. Storm drains were overflowing and the manholes popped open. I lived less than a quarter-mile away, and all we got was a light shower. Then again, my place is uphill, so I might not have noticed.
I guess those stories about San Francisco having a lot of microclimates in its neighborhoods are true after all.
