Don't you love it when old dirt on politicians comes to light? While not as exciting as Meiko Tanaka's predicament, Yukio Hatoyama, it was revealed, released his own little single when he was elected to office.
The single from 1988, "Take Heart - Fly, Dove of Peace [on the wings of memory]," had about 100 printings and was passed out to Hatoyama's supporters -- a sort of thank-you gift, I suppose. Japan Probe brought us the video from above, which is the largest sample of the song that happens to be online.
The story behind it is that Hatoyama asked a Hokkaido dentist (and I presume a supporter) to write the song for him. Hatoyama then recorded the song rather quickly, and seemed "quite accustomed to singing." I think we all know what this means, right?
An all-political edition of Japanator Radio. I'm sure Koizumi has several songs under his belt that'll help fill up the show. If not, we can just fill it up with Minoru Shiraishi, who is waiting for you after the jump.
