Wait, what? A Monster Hunter film 'is in planning'Now here's something I didn't expect. Of all the video games to make a film adaptation out of, someone had to pick Monster Hunter. Really! It looks like Paul W.S. Anderson, director of such cinematic gems as the Resident Evil movies, Mortal Kombat, and Death Race, mentioned that he's quite the MonHun fan and that "a film conversion is in planning." Putting aside the fact that this could mean practically anything in terms of how concrete the prospect actually is (films get optioned all the time but many never see the light of day), my concern is what a Monster Hunter movie would actually be like. It's not as if the series has ever had much of a story. What would your ideal Monster Hunter movie be like? Me, I'd want them to do it kind of like a documentary or even one of those Discovery Channel shows that follow around a group of fishermen or truckers, except this time it's people that go out on contract to kill gigantic monsters, then skin their hides to make weapons and armor with which to kill even more gigantic monsters.
