Surely many of us have gone through it: you walk through the living room to leave the house and your mother or father screeches, "You aren't leaving the house wearing THAT, are you?" Why yes, mom, yes I am. You may think I look like a harlot, but this is actually fashionable. My spiky hair and fishnets with holes in them are a fashion statement. This is who I am! Now get out of my way!
All jokes aside, it seems that gyaru fashion is spreading from the teens wearing it all the way down to the kids. CNN Go mentions this look as "gyaru gaki", or "gyaru brat". In other words, it's how gyaru dress their children. Fashion magazines like Men's Knuckle are doing spreads on the latest looks so you have a guide on how to dress your own brat. And while it's not like they look like hookers or anything ... well, I take that back. Some of them DO look like hookers.
Want to cash in? The items are out there, if you want to spend your dollars. Last time I checked, that look is considered punk rock in the States, but if you want to call it gyaru gaki, fine by me, Japan.
