Weird Al and Michael Jackson on Japanese TV in 1984 photo

I mean really, do you even need an explanation? You do? Well OK, here it is from the lips (or fingers) of Al himself:

"This is me on a Japanese TV show in 1984, singing 'Eat It' (badly) in half-English, half-phonetic-Japanese. My look of confusion is not an act - I have absolutely no idea what is going on here. The clip features dancing Sumo wrestlers, a Japanese Michael Jackson, and of course, a guy dressed up as a giant lobster."

Get ready to have your mind blown after the jump.

*Mind Blown*

...there are no words to describe how incredibly amazing this occurrence truly is...
His translator was absolutely, and hilariously useless.

That was a can of worms!
He did more or less what I would have done five years ago.

I think it's a waste that he didn't half-translate the entire song for the sake of the audience.
Looks like Weird Al has been out-weirded. Seriously, that was hilarious.
That Japanese Michael Jackson had some serious moves. I heavily endorse the fact that he bit the man in the lobster suit. That man deserved it.

And I thought America in the 80's was..."weird". Dohohohoho!
My life is complete.

(And poor Al! But it's still awesome. He was just starting to get big at that point with the "Even Worse" album. He's so young there!)

Awesome. I never understood why Al lost the glasses and moustache, it was such an iconic look.
haha! So awkward!
Wow, Japan is too WEIRD for Weird Al!!
Wait a minute, he had a translator there?
Very.. interesting.
But the "Sumos" were dancing Thriller...
You know that "no matter what you do in life, you will never be as awesome as this picture" image macro? This video.
*mind blown*
