What the fuck is Yozakura Quartet anime even doing on there after it broke my heart after it raped me?

Heck, my name is friggin Heero Yuy, and I love Clannad more than Gundam 00 by a long shot... (though really, with how 00 has been so far, that doesn't say a whole lot....at least S2 looks to have potential...sorta).

As for the rest though, I agree Tytania is waaaay better than this list gives it credit. I still enjoy To Aru Majutsu no Index, Shirabane Hime Aka, Toradora, and Chaos;Head though. Chaos;Head makes me think "Higurashi: NHK edition", and To Aru Majutsu no Index gives an impression that reminds me of Kaze no Stigma (and that's not a bad thing). Plus it looks like J.C.Staff is trying hard on it, and whenever they've tried hard instead of messing around, they've done well.

Toradora is good but Chaos;Head needs to be higher on the list. I mean come on that guy need medication or electroshock therapy. Casshern Sins is looking good too.
Why the hell do people love Clannad AS I mean there just whoring the show out.

Clannad has a reputation to uphold, and so far it hasn't failed at that. You'd expect that them trying to simplify a multi-path visual novel into a single-path anime would need to cut a lot of stuff, but so far they've managed to stay true to the source material. It's impressive in its own right.

Sometimes, I think some shows were made with a different audience in mind... A non-japanese audience. I think Casshern is one of those. Fuck, that shit is INTENSE.

It's clear that Japan has no idea about what's any good anymore.

I meen supporting the shit that stops more Haruhi, FMP and such? That's just dispicable.

Kyoto Animation has just done amazing with Clannad. They understood their audience so well they even made an OVA just for one of the more popular routes, and considering that's never been done before (at least not for a mainstream show), that says a lot. Take it one step further, this whole season is basically one giant fan disk.

Most series tend to end right as the romance of the two characters puts them where they hook up, and then put the rest on fast-forward or just stop there. This one though they realized that that's only where a relationship really starts, and so they're going on.

Aside from that, what really sets the show apart is it's excellent mix of comedy and drama that are both excellently presented without messing up one another. The only other show that I've ever seen that pulled off comedy in a fairly serious show without interrupting the flow was Full Metal Panic: TSR (and Kyoto Animation did that one too).

Lastly, the original VN was probably one of the best VNs I've ever read out of the fairly sizable list I've dug into. And KyoAni did such a great job adapting it into a show while retaining the feel of the characters and story (and art), that it's no wonder it's a hit. The only objective complaint I could make out of all of it is that they spent 5 episodes on Fuuko's arc, yet spent less than 2 on Kyou's and Tomoyo's (if you could count their little mini part as an arc). Subjectively I wish they went for Kyou's route, but that's just my personal preference, and Nagisa's technically the main girl so it's not really their fault.

@Serial: I've only had two problems with Casshern so far: 1) why the heck can't anyone tell he's Casshern when he has a giant letter 'C' on his chest?! and 2) some of the character personalities tend to be a bit unrealistic or just plain dumb at times. Ex: That 'Wench" character from episode 2...

@Conan-San: Well, a new Haruhi anime is in the making.
As for Full Metal Panic, I think that another season may be announced sometime next year. They left the last one off at a good point for continuation.

Wow obviously i am watching the wrong shows XD.I defenitly want to watch clannad BUT i refuse too watch the anime eason 1 or 2 before i finish the VN.

I ma watching cashern ,abyss,nodame,and ef.I have though about picking up YQ but im not sure if i wanna finish it realy after 3 eps.Also looing into tytania,lvoes me some space opera :P

I've been waiting an eternity to watch One Outs and I still can't find any subs.

Kannagi is pretty awesome, but balls to Clannad. The only thing that can make me forgive KyoAni for taking so long with Haruhi 2 and making more Clannad is if Haruhi 2 ends up as the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruki.

I agree with that list like 85%...for once.

I'm not surprised about these results. After all, these ARE the people who bought up Strike Witches like hot cakes.

Does this take into account complaints Kyoto Animation is dedicating time to Clannad and not Haruhi season 2?

Not to mention the fact that Clannad is just as popular in Japan as Haruhi, so stop acting like they're betraying everyone and stop acting so selfish. You didn't see me complaining that Sunrise wasted two whole seasons on making that turd Code Geass did you?

Can't believe Linebarrels is way up there. Well, maybe they're posting about how awful it is. Not surprised about Gundam and Clannad, but Casshern being that low does seem odd to me. Oh well.

Surprisingly I agree with the majority of this list. Than again I still haven't gotten around to watching all of these shows. But I definitely think Toradora and Index are the two best new series. Sadly I haven't watched Clannad AS or Gundam OO 2 yet, since I'm stockpiling episodes to burn through, but I have high hopes for them.

Fuck Falcon Doug though. He can die in a fire.
