Tuna might go extinct in three years, and the same could be said for the Japanese male porn star. Ok, well that might not be the truth because there will always be men available for this job. The Tokyo Reporter found out that there has been a recent decline of male adult video stars in Japan. A producer at TBS radio states “I found out that many guys are leaving the industry since they cannot ‘keep up’ with the ‘hard’ schedule, this in spite of getting laid everyday.”

The thing is, the number of new actors has not increased, but the amount of movies has increased drastically. “But the industry is now in an upswing, and we cannot keep up with demand and maintain an appropriate number of actors.” More like no one can keep up with Japan’s constant discovery of new fetishes that never existed in the past. Not only that, but only four or five actors are hired every year.

I’m sure the Japanese AV industry will survive. But think of the poor actors who will have to work overtime, and also have to work with ugly actresses who are not their type. My heart goes out to them.
