Anime is a tight production. Sometimes shows are being worked on right up until the airing time, which can mean that cuts in production value become apparent. Sometimes, these will be fixed for the DVD release, but it's still not a good sign if a show has problems like this.
Winter Sonata, the anime adaptation of the Korean mega-hit drama from 2002, debuted with its first episode two days ago on Sky PerfecTV. The problem? They only have three episodes completed, according to word that's been leaked from the Winter Sonata Production Committee (the producers of the show, in essence.)
Part of the problem seems to stem from one of the actors, Yong Joon Bae, requested changes be made to the first episode during ADR. That must have put a major kink in things, and if this sort of attitude continues, it would create a major disruption for the workflow of the staff, meaning the episodes just can't get done on time.
Who knows how things will turn out. I honestly haven't had high hopes for the show since I heard about it, and I was actually planning on watching just to see how much of a train wreck it might turn into. I guess I had better grab the popcorn?
