Now is about the time when all the high-quality K-ON! merchandise starts coming out. The good looking figures from Alter, Goodsmile Company, and all the others will hit shelves in the coming months, draining me of funds for a good while.
But of course, we'll turn to our good friend Danny Choo for some of the best photos of the figures that Alter is going to be putting out for K-ON! -- specifically their Yui and Mio figures. Now, I've had no great love for Yui as I watch the show (I'm more of a Mio and Ritsu fan), and this figure helped me solidify why: her open-gaped mouth, the large, vacant eyes. They inspire those same feelings of hatred when I'm confronted with Tsukasa from Lucky Star.
So, it's official. I can't really hold any respect for Yui. I can respect Alter for the figure they've put together, though. Both in Yui and Mio's case, the figures look absolutely stunning. They're wonderfully sculpted, yes, but there's something more to it than that -- I think it's the sheen of the painting on their outfits. It gives it a really eye-popping appeal that just captures my heart, especially with Mio.
Now, I just need to wait for a Ritsu set that will be prohibitively expensive because of her drum kit. Mio will be taking reservations in November, while Yui will be in December. Are you planning on getting either/both of these, or are some of you holding out hope for Ritsu/Tsumugi figures?
