Spencer over at SiliconEra (who I finally got to meet yesterday) caught word from the people at Xseed while he was here at Anime Expo that they're going to be bringing the Wii game based off of Mamoru Oshii's The Sky Crawlers anime, which is in turn based off of a series of novels by Hiroshi Mori. When the film premiered in New York City, Jeff wrote up some awesome coverage of it that you should check out.
While set in the film's universe of a world without actual wars -- one where these 'Sky Crawlers' fight for sport -- the game follows its own unique stoyline. An airplane fighter title, this game scored a respectable 32/40 from Famitsu.
We'll have to see how the title does once it falls into our hands over here at Modern Method -- and we'll have to see if anyone picks up the manga that was made off of the the game. Again, we'll see.

I don't care what you all think, the movie was fresh, unique, and a joy to watch.
As for the game, well, I heard it was pretty good actually. Xseed deserves a statue for all the games they've been bringing over by now... that is, if Xseed was a person. I hope Rising Star picks up the European rights, since that is what usually happens to Xseed-published games.
